In Alpine School District, a Speech or Language Impairment refers a communication disorder, such as stuttering, impaired articulation (speech sounds), phonological pattern errors, apraxia, language impairment, delayed or inappropriate social skills, voice disorder, or any syndrome or condition that adversely affects a student's communication and educational performance in the classroom.
